I visited the of and in Boscastle. It’s a pretty small building, but it’s full of really interesting artifacts. Here are some pictures I took.

@ElisRowlands There were depictions of what have been thought of over the years.

@ElisRowlands These are some of the ways to divine the future. I knew about reading tea leaves, but I was surprised to learn that drops of molten lead was also used.

One of the things I found most interesting was this carving of a labyrinth leading to the Otherworld. Tracing your finger along it could lead to the sacred centre.

This was the second time I've visited the of and , and it was a great little experience. Boscastle is a beautiful town and I recommend visiting if you're ever nearby.

All the artifacts were fascinating and really gripped my imagination. Seeing real magical objects gave me a much better idea of what was used in and . Hopefully I can use this to some .

@ElisRowlands Thanks for this thread! Is this the same museum that shows a heart pierced with nails in it's exhibition? (Read another thread about a museum of witchcraft and magic years ago and that was the main topic.)

By the way: In Germany it is a tradition on New Year's Eve to predict the future with lead casting - nowadays wax is being used.

@Cohnina I didn’t see that - maybe they removed it from display?

@ElisRowlands Couldn't find the other thread, but everyone I follow was talking about the same museum so I'd guess you're right.
