Just had a phone call from somebody claiming to be "BT in Hertfordshire", claiming BT are going to be business only, and that we would need to change our broadband agreement.
I rang off.
#BT send us letters about every tiny change in their terms and conditions. If this wasn't a #scammer trying to #scam us into switching to a rip off service, I would have had such a letter.
Take care, everyone, scammers are at it again!
@Walrus its an Ofcom requirement to send these letters (I've had them from other providers).
Whilst BT consumer is rebranding to EE, a work colleague got a residential broadband circuit provisioned recently from BT and not only was it still copper, she got a BT branded router, so its not something they are doing immediately..
I didn't even agree that I was <my_name> or tell them who I already have broadband with...
Their apparent concern about my health, "how are you today, sir?" was an immediate alarm...
@Walrus also genuine UK based companies barely have enough staff to answer phone calls (even sales departments are very lean these days), let alone cold call people for new business..
Absolute clincher, right there!
