@aegir Yes, why are we still talking about a 100 year old ambition. Time to change things for the better again.
@bouncinglime I’ve tried to find it and couldn’t find anything. Image search just thinks it’s the original.
@aegir yeah, the only relevant results that tineye turned up were tumblr posts that seem to be gone :/
I'll keep looking!
@aegir https://srslywrong.com/podcast/444-the-4-4-4-movement/ that one ise onteresting too
@aegir here is another alternative
I'd like to suggest an alternative called "0/9/15"...
@aegir Four hours per week.
8 work
3-6 for transportation to work
8 for sleep
=
fuck this life
@aegir
I feel like we could do better than this though. Like, I'd want to compare real productivity and waste from then and now.
Seems like you could get damn near close to a 0 hour work week from just the statistical side of things. That's not including crossover between what people want to do and work
Kroptokin estimated that we could fulfill all our needs with 5 hours of work per day (25-30 hrs/wk) in the Conquest of Bread back in 1892*. With today's technology, we should have pared that down to less than 4 hours by now.
This seems entirely reasonable, but, instead, capitalism has forced us into constant economic anxiety.
*He also posits that much of our R&D would be accomplished by people exploring their natural curiosity.
@aegir this one also might be nice but really we should #AbolishTheWageSystem altogether!
@jmcnaughton @aegir That must be some excellent weed those folks are smoking.
@aegir
This is my work-life-balance on Friday. And I'm ok with that.
