I am feeling encouraged now David. I actually read all the info about Manjaro Linux and don't feel so nervous about giving it a try.
Looks like I need an old computer but not too old as it needs 64bit
I looked at all the images and understood a bit more than I expected to.
Would it be best to find a local person with specific experience with Linux to install it? 🤔
I have spoken to a couple of people a few years ago who did not understand what my problem is with Microsoft! 🙄
All you need to get started is software to download the Linux operating system (eg https://manjaro.org/download/plasma) put the iso image onto a USB stick. I haven't tried it but this looks ok https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-burn-an-iso-file-to-a-usb-drive-2619270
Then you enter the 'boot menu' at startup of computer, normally by pressing F1 or F10 (search will tell you what to press for your machine) and boot from usb
@anniemo71 Good luck with trying Linux. There are plenty around who do not love Microsoft. You will find challenges, but plenty of support as well. Do let us know how you get on!
