Could trees make Wales' urban areas not just liveable, but glorious, by 2050? I think so

@davidoclubb @wales but only if we can get councils to agree that they need looking after. field trees naturally lower their lower boughs to touch the ground and the trunk widens, so the planting area needs to be big enough and deep enough. And don't forget the roots will seek nutrients so please plant trees but do it properly; not in half-hearted quick fix way!
@davidoclubb @wales when I look at urban re-forested areas around me, the difference between then and now can be quite astonishing. I'm not sure when this streetscape was planted but, I think in the mid-1990s. So, less than 30 years.
@davidoclubb @wales and here's an industrial reclamation project in Campbell River where I live. The conservation non-profit I'm affiliated with, Greenways Land Trust, has the contract to manage Baikie Island Nature Reserve. About 20 years of work, and a new project is ongoing. It is possible! https://infotel.ca/newsitem/in-photos-campbell-river-estuary-is-a-restoration-showcase-to-save-salmon-habitat-from-climate-change/it92060
@davidoclubb @wales it has been called "a bright spot" in the Nature Conservancy report that states eastern Vancouver Island is one of nine Eco-crisis regions in Canada. https://www.comoxvalleyrecord.com/news/eastern-vancouver-island-one-of-nine-ecocrisis-regions-in-canada-1616532
