Our very nice Mr Postman has delivered my new (old) today. "Songs of earth and power" by Greg Bear. I read it many years ago and absolutely hated the beginning. It was sooo slow and dull I almost gave up. I was so glad that I didn't. It turned out to be one of the best books I ever read. I'm looking forward to reading it again. I'm wondering if the beginning might be more enjoyable now I know its purpose.
