In the television equivalent of watching paint dry, Sky News has bought a huge thermometer so we can watch the temperature rise degree by degree.
@gomez lol. What's next? Internet-connected weather stations? Give me a break.
@gomez As if you're not miserable enough already!
@oilyfish
How are you guys doing? I heard it was pretty warm down south last weekend.
@gomez It was hot as blazes for about 3 days but it was made much worse by the smoke from all the fires - you couldn't open up in the mornings when it was slightly cooler unless you don't mind the smell of smoke (and choking). The fires are ongoing but lessened some and we are out of the smoke for now. I have never been so happy for thick/cool fog as now. The country needs rain, though.
@gomez But personally we're fine - just said goodbye to the daughter who was visiting for 6 weeks from Taiwan and were lucky enough to have the son here as well for the first 10 days of her visit. The pandemic had greatly curtailed these reunions.
@oilyfish
Good to hear, and glad you managed to catch up with the family.
We are hoping to get to Tomar in October, when I'm sure it might be a bit cooler.
Coming in via Lisbon this time and going to try the train upcountry.
