I'll do a quick (re) for the newcomers.

I'm an Internet dinosaur, started development in the mid 90s. Born in Llanilltud Fawr, but now living in in the beautiful .

I like and (follow @rugby@gup.pe for the Rugby group)

I quit my job April 1, so I'm now underemployed as a startup consultant and leaf blower.

I am the lead admin for the toot.wales service, and there are getting started tips in my profile.

!

@jaz @rugby Its best to just let the leaves blow out of your yard 😂 much easier

@jitteringrunt @rugby@gup.pe I tried mowing them to make it easier to blow away, but trust me, it's never ending and they blow into all the nooks and crannies, two foot deep of wet leaves = pests, rot and general no thank you. The picture is 12 hours after blowing it clear.

@jaz @rugby ugh...yeah I can''t see any grass in our yard. Just a thick carpet of leaves

@jitteringrunt @rugby@gup.pe this year I'm going to try to create some mulch from all the free organic matter, I have a few of these strategically placed for me to blow into

@jaz @rugby you need to make sure you mix some greens in with all that though, otherwise it won't really create a great mix.

@jitteringrunt @rugby@gup.pe yep, I'm chopping down most of the veg matter today to mix in, I have plenty of tomato plants and such to throw in the mix, gonna do leaf green leaf green leaf

Best advice I've seen is to mow your leaves. The organic matter will break down faster and fertilize your lawn leading to a more luscious one come spring.

@gme @jaz I agree, as you have so many of them, it might be the better choice. For us lazy folks it is easier too

@gme @jitteringrunt I've been doing that out front where I have a lot of lawn, it's working well. Other areas are a little tougher. But agreed, it's nature's finest, I've never understood people who bag it and remove it.

@jaz What kind of crosswords, Jaz?

@matt I do the NYT most days, and for fun lately I've been working through the archive doin Fri/Sat/Sun I've done about four months I think

@jaz Oh nice. I'm a cryptic crossword guy but those American ones do seem really clever :)

@matt yeh, NYT often has some cryptic clues, but it's a bunch of stuff with them.

@jaz @rugby I forgot you are in Hudson Valley and I was just there a few weeks ago where i stayed in Athens and explored Hudson, Catskill, Saugerties, Kingston and Rhinebeck.

Hope next time I remember and I can buy you a beverage.

@scully ah da iawn! I'm a little bit lower nearer Ossining (great local brewery Sing Sing Kill there) but yeh, any time give me a shout. Would love to hear more about the sheep! Photos look great, you had gorgeous weather for it, and of course the leaves are turning like crazy, so pretty!

@jaz had not heard of that brewery.

One highlight for us was Branchwater Farm (Red Hook area) where they make their own gin from wheat they grow.

@scully seems like there's more and more distilleries popping up
