#AskFedi what's the current go-to for multiple account Mastodon clients, preferably on Desktop but Android also if you have ideas. cc @anniemo71
@jaz @anniemo71 @Tusky works great for me.
@wait_sasha@scholar.social @jaz @anniemo71 @Tusky one multi-account feature I especially like is that you can open any post as the alt. And you can clearly see which account you are posting with.
I'm less certain why I have an alt in the first place. Seemed like a good idea at the time?
@wait_sasha@hachyderm.io @jaz @anniemo71 @Tusky posting from original account.
@wait_sasha@hachyderm.io @jaz @anniemo71 @Tusky because I often post "unlisted" by default that means replies are invisible without explicitly following the alt.
I admit I still find UX here deeply confusing.
@jaz @anniemo71 I personally like Tusky a lot. And heard that Elk seems to do a good job.
@jaz Tusky (Android) has been lovely and supports multiple accounts! I don't have a desktop rec, but are you looking for something like the basic web interface where you'd swap btwn accts, or like advanced web where you could have columns from each displayed side by side? that'll change the answers that are helpful for you - I'm not sure any client does both
@jaz @anniemo71
Megalodon is a dream. It took me minute to know how to switch accounts (hold pfp image in bottom right corner), but everything is really nice and smooth, and hashtag follows and lists are really nicely integrated without problems.
@jaz A nice alternate web frontend (rather than an app) for desktop is https://trunks.social/. They do a good Android app too. If you specifically want an app, the best I've found is Sengi - column interface like the "advanced view" and multi-account support.
@jaz@toot.wales @anniemo71@toot.wales Subway Tooter is great for multiple accounts but it's mostly limited to Mastodon- and Pleroma-based instances.
@jaz AndStatus (Android) has a very customizable timeline including multi-account combined, but post display is pretty basic - doesn't know about polls, local emoji, etc.
