Afternoon Tŵters! Just in from the #gym, and then #TaiChi - feeling good, and somehow I have *more* energy than I did before I went out?! Go figure!
Restful #afternoon in the sunshine, might go for a walk, and having the daughter over to stay tonight, so that'll be nice.
#AquaAerobics tomorrow, then I'm going to be brave and try out a new #choir. Have not sung since 2020, so am a bit #anxious but I'm sure it'll be fine.
Have a lovely day, you gorgeous lot. x
Okay so the #Choir part went well, it was fun and engaging and I'll definitely go again.
The bad news is that I reversed into a wall on arrival to the choir (I changed my mind about going down a steep verge thing so reversed, and noticed the wall I was reversing into just a little too late). I parked up, and sobbed for a solid 20 minutes before having to go in and sing!
Still, I'm not injured and the car, while expensive, is fixable. URGH though!
@lexicaleigh I joined Chi Gung some years back at Ebbw Vale institute but had to stop because of work times. A lifetime ago, teenage me knew all the Tai Chi movement for my Kung Fu club (Yang style I think). Graceful and rewarding.
@Brenin42 Oh totally, although I'm not sure I've reached the 'graceful' stage yet! I'll keep persevering, as it is indeed very rewarding.
@laurencewolfe I was, and still am, devastated. Cried like a tiny child. And again after choir when I got home. Took the evening to wallow in it, then got productive the next day with regards to quotes and how to fix it. It'll be okay.
@lexicaleigh a natural response to an upsetting incident. I hope the insurance covers it .
@PatrickOBeirne Thank you, I really appreciate your post. x I want to avoid claiming as I don't have a protected No Claims Bonus. My partner is going to try to patch it up with body filler and paint until I can afford to get the door replaced (it's more of a 'skin' than a door, so it's not really suitable for a filler job as a long-term solution).
@lexicaleigh
Have you checked with the insurance company about how much your premium would go up and for how long? It might still be cheaper.
Doors can be expensive. In a US site I have seen the price of a Corolla door at 2500 or only 500 for a skin, the outer part. Our garage quoted 5000 and the insurer wrestled them down to 4000. Just as well we paid a bit more for claim protection, 2 in 5 years I think.
@PatrickOBeirne I have not. I'll give them a ring today. Thanks for the advice
