@llamasoft_ox 30 odd years ago I was doing PL/1 coding for a Big Corp’s payroll mainframe. My mentor was an older guy who used to work for Bell Fruit in Nottingham, programming fruit machines. He said it was the only job he could get with a degree in advanced statistics and probability when he left uni.
