“London… have you got Trouble? You’ve got WhiteSNAAAAAKE!”
Methu teimlo’n euog am hyn, yr ail fand i fi weld yn fyw, yn fachgen 14 oed, a’r gig cynta yng Nghymru: Canolfan Hamdden Cei Connah. Whitesnake on Ice.
Wedi bod yn meddwl, a darllen, am Whitesnake ers i’r Wordle fynd â fi yn ôl i yrfa cynnar Micky Moody (Snafu ac ati) bwyddiwrnod.
Ie, ok, deinosoriaid, ond yn y cydestun presennol maen nhw’n swnio braidd yn ddiniwed. “Is there anyone here who was at the Lyceum? Thank you for being at the Odeon!” Diwedd adeg. Fy nghael i bob tro.
Coverdale is ridiculous, obviously, but this album is is the best Whitesnake record by a country mile. It might even be the best Deep Purple Mark 3 album.
@nic Ade used to like Whitesnake. Back in the day.
@maffknight Of course he did. A man of wealth and taste.
How's the 'Tallica?
@nic first listen was while working this morning on $potify. Just giving the vinyl a spin before Al and Jude arrive. It’s good and heavy. Guardian gave it 3 stars, I think it is worthy of a 4.
@maffknight Just reading the Guardian review now. I always feel like I missed out by not being into metal when they appeared; I'm fascinated by the back-story, especially Lars being such a NWBHM nerd, but I don't have that connection because I was listening to Sugarcubes or the Mary Chain or whatever when they were coming up.
@nic I have Steve, an old friend who I lost touch with years ago, to thank for getting me into Metallica. He was really into what was happening on the US thrash scene. When he played me Ride The Lightning, I was blown away.
@nic I then saw them for the first time at Monsters of Rock at Donington Park: https://www.livemetallica.com/live-music/0,109/Metallica-mp3-flac-download-8-17-1985-Donington-Park-Donington-UK.html
@maffknight Give J&A our love x
