Yesterday was a feel good day:

Made it to a sunny Roath Market, the first time for too long. Returned with Fabrizio's Sicilian arancini & panella, Sofia's Pastries' Greek leek pies & orange cake & dinner - a family-style West African meal c/o Mami Maggie's Recipes, we paired fittingly with Ken Forrester's Sparkle Horse.

Great to catch up with you both @tnjh!

A family-style West African meal from Mami Maggie's Recipes sits on a pale and brown-edged plate. The meal deal is shared, so an identical plated meal peeps out to the upper right. On the plate, clockwise from the top: Jollof rice, red beans, fried vegetable rice topped with hot sauce, a dollop of very hot sauce (this is Mme's plate, M NotLeafy had the rest), fried plantain and three puff puffs. A serving of mixed vegetables, including broccoli, red onions, peppers and cauliflower is in the centre of the plate. Both plates lie on a grey and brown speckled kitchen worktop.
A chilled, unopened bottle of Ken Forrester's Sparkle Horse Cap Classique sits on a grey and brown speckled kitchen worktop. The bottle has a champagne-style cork held in place by a muselet and the bottle's neck below has a colourful paper wrap with a yellow-gold ribbon hanging beneath. The label bears an image of a sparkling and golden horse styled as if on a vintage carousel, the sight of which and its joyful riders inspired the wine's name.
