8-year old: Mom, I wish I was more like you
Me: Yeah? In what way?
8-year old: You're so organized, and you're good with routine and… [lists several other hard-won #ADHD coping skills with which I still struggle mightily]
Me: I was NOT good at those things when I was 8. You can get better at it with practice. I'll help

Dziękuję i składam najgłębszy ukłon Twojemu geniuszowi.

Amen.

I just had the appoinemnt with Ariadna over th ephone to get a newer Medikinet prescription and told her the thing about the odd day here and there when the 40mg aren't enough and I can tell by 1pm.

She did offer to add instant release ones to add on top as far as I take them no later than 2pm. But she did say she does NOT recommend me to go that path becuase it's better to have a day with the pills not working at max, than risk the side effects of combining instant + modified release ones.

Interesting.

I declined the offer, will carry on with 40mg Medikinet since that odd day is getting rarer and rarer

So after feeling very frustrated & angry, I took the cats out for some sun (George on a lead) and then jumped on the exercise machine & started listening to this podcast. Even before they get to discussing sex, gender & sexuality, the discussion neurodivergence & the guest speaker’s neuro journey was excellent.

Great for anyone questioning their neuro type, gender, sexuality etc, or who knows someone who is. Parents & teachers would also benefit. The chances of having undiagnosed neurodivergent kids in a class who might also be dealing with gender/sexuality issues is pretty high.

Ken Kilbride, chief executive of ADHD Ireland, said not everybody with ADHD is going to need medication but for those who do, it is important to ensure there are no barriers in place.

The box says 40mg ritalin

I take two in the morning, and then I sleep another hour

And the only reason I don't keep sleeping after that, is my alarm going off in another room, again, forcing me out of bed to stop it, again, before the neighbors complain... (again)

The only thing coffee helps me with at this point, is to make sure I lose my shit before leaving the house

Literally, that is...

Has anyone in this group ever heard of this?

I do but I never thought of it as part of ADHD's issues. And standing up and cleaning something (to do something physical) helps, which is why it is what I normally do. On MPX (and no coffee) it is rare for this to ever happen. Without meds is quite very common and I struggle to stay awake after ~3pm
