Stephen Cook<p>Yesterday I enjoyed a wander around <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/BBOWT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BBOWT</span></a> 's lovely Warburg nature reserve in the <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Chiltern" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Chiltern</span></a> hills.</p><p>I got to the nature reserve by <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/bus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bus</span></a>. I discovered by accident that the service existed, although I'm obliged to be knowledgeable about public transport because I depend on it. There was zero information about the service at the bus stops. The bus was nearly empty.</p><p>If local councils and bus operators publicised services more effectively, there would be more passengers and lower subsidies.</p>
