This little beauty from today is a Siskin. Again we are back to dull grey skies here, so apologies for the lighting. This is a female and it has been at the feeders. This is the first for a long while, I don’t think we saw any last year, don’t hold me to that though as time doesn’t have the same meaning as it used to

The Birdman of Alrewas

When I first glanced at this I thought it was a woodpigeon, but then I looked a little closer. This is a first for the garden and it is a Stock Dove. It has a green patch on its neck (no white band like a woodpigeon and is a little smaller too) and a distinct black eye. I only managed to get this one shot of it before it flew.
