Life took an unexpected turn.

The boat is "temporarily" in a marina. I need to get back to it, but I think it could be months.

The marina has no long-term mooring available, but the marina staff is kindly moving the boat for me from spot to spot as boats come and go on trips. The rate to sublet is costlier, but needs must.

New-to-me boat, that I can launch myself. We did get my neighbour's van stuck on the beach, but I got it out, trailer and boat also.
That was the plan, but we were catching fish, and I said, the tide is dropping, we might not be able to get in. Not sure what we'd do for 6 hours..

The guy parked behind us at the fuel dock is 25 feet wide (John's boat is 12) and has a 500 gallon fuel tank. #boating

Took a walk to the Tree of Life Cuban Bakery and Restaurant. Got a large flan, regular pastry, and large sandwich (guapo y fajao Cuban) for lunch later. Bill might share it with me, but John's the kind of guy who would rather eat McDonald's than try anything new.

In my mind, it makes no sense to #travel if you don't explore and try out what communities have to offer.

And because of our communication gap when ordering, I'm reminded that I really do need to finish learning Spanish. #boating

At Titusville Marina, there's an osprey perched atop the mast of the sailboat parked next to us. If he wanted pigeons for breakfast, it should be easy hunting. #boating #birds #Florida

Du kommer i båt mot ett smalt sund. Mitt i sundet står en grön farledsprick. Ingen röd prick syns o inga andra farledsprickar varken före eller efter sundet. Vilken sida om pricken går du?

Now that the boat is working well and the owner is more confident, this trip has turned into a crazy race to Jacksonville. I wouldn't mind so much if we could close the back door and not have to listen to a pair of screaming 300 hp outboards, but I'm nearly deaf at the end of each day and dehydrated from sweating my brains out. Not much pleasure cruising the ICW at 30 mph for hours on end.

We'll make Titusville today. #boating
