Eurasian chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)

The Eurasian chaffinch, also known as the Common chaffinch, or simply Chaffinch, is a small, plump-looking bird with a distinctive appearance. Males (pictured) boast a vibrant blue-grey cap, a rust-red breast, and two white wing bars. Females have a duller brown-grey plumage but share the same white wing bars. Known for their cheerful song, they are often seen hopping on the ground, foraging for seeds and insects.

Conservation status: Least Concern (IUCN 3.1)

Distribution: Widespread throughout Europe and parts of western Asia. A subspecies is found in northern Africa.

Its body is extremely fluffy, dark grey colour. And it has its antennae sticking out. The plant, called pestilence wort, has pink stems and small white flowers.
