Morning folks, to celebrate losing an hour of my #StandingStoneSunday, here's Standard Street or Great Oak Road standing stone, near the lovely town of Crickhowell in South Wales. Standing over 6 feet tall, it's marked by the OS as a boundary stone but must surely be Bronze Age.
This visit April 2012.
Cracking Slow Ways completed today dodging in and out of showery weather. Walkers Are Welcome Crickhowell to Abergavenny primarily following the Brecon & Mon canal. In the afternoon of the first full day in #BannauBrycheiniog, we travelled to #Crickhowell or #Crughywel to climb #TableMountain, which is also the location of an #IronAge #fort. So, equipped with my #OrdnanceSurveyMap we made steady progress up the slopes, on #roads and then #footpaths, often across #farmland. The total walk was 12.5 km.
Approaching the summit, you can see that the area is covered with #ferns.
Yesterday we visited #crickhowell briefly and as we needed food we stopped by a place called [book-ish] which combines my need to eat with beautiful books to stare at. 
Had a lovely day off traipsing around #Crickhowell, #Abergavenny and #RaglanCastle with @richie. Need more days off.
Currently exploring #Crickhowell, bought a new doormat and currently having a latte and #chocolate #cake!
Time to shrug off those winter blues and get back out into our beautiful mountains and valleys!
This year the Crickhowell Walking Festival runs from 4-12 March and is offering 80 guided walks from 3 to 16 miles, from valley strolls to demanding all-day routes on the high tops.
