“This is a landscape worked by humans, a place of dams and cairns and clay pits. But when we reached the high point of the walk near Brown Heath, we could see, laid out before us to the north, the territory of another animal: Wulfgar the black fox.”

I wrote about walking with G on Dartmoor, and about one of my favourite books set there: Black Fox Running by Brian Carter.

Rainbow and berried hawthorn at Combestone tor yesterday, #Dartmoor, #Devon. I was quite tearful when I saw this piece of beauty, I don’t often see much metrological drama in my hour out a week. When I became ill I never thought I’d take photos like this again. I often take quite undramatic location and make them look different. No getting up at dawn and walking for miles for me ! As the rainbow developed below me a skylark flew over my head, it was quite Wordsworthian ! #photography
