Delightful day with chum at the #Fringe , then stroll & drinks & chat.
Swiss act Ta-Bamm!! were fabulous (venue 41), marimba & tap dance, quite wonderful, with a touch of physical comedy too.
Only on till the 14th, recommended

This follows extensive large fires across Scotland over the summer, many started by people, deliberately or by ‘accident’.
Big fire on Arthur's Seat just now. Looks like a lot of the south side of the hill is burnt. Took a divert from normal route on bike ride home to avoid the smoke. #edinburgh

Austerity and the cuts that came were devestating. Suicides and ruined life chances. It fed the rage that kindled populist nationalism - of the more progressive type in Scotland but of the racist type elsewhere.
It was not all down to Fred, he was just a symptom of how society was and is structured to put shareholder value above all else. He can still go fuck himself though. (3)
Wife has gone to see a show with her friends so I’m sat in George Square, which is pretty much the centre of Edinburgh Fringe events, with a toddler that has just drifted off to sleep. It’s at times like these I wish I had my laptop with me and could do some work on projects, but alas my phone will have to entertain me for the next couple of hours.

#Edinburgh not part of the festival 
Sunday off and a day with dear chum at the #Fringe beckons, with marimba playing and tap dancing on the menu because, well, #Edinburgh Fringe and things like that happen here in August.
But first meeting chum for leisurely lunch in theGreek Pastry place, then it's Culture Vulture Mode. I've booked something, she's booked something but isn't telling me what, so later afternoon will be a total surprise. Which is good, festival is for exploring stuff.
