1950 British Grand Prix highlights… colourised! The first ever Formula 1 race was held 75 years ago today at Silverstone. (3-min watch)
On May 13, 1950, 75 years ago, the Italian driver Nino Farina won the British GP in Silverstone.
It was the first race of the first Formula 1 World Championship.
Completing the podium also were the Italian Luigi Fagioli, in second place, and the British Reg Parnell, in third. All of them drove Alfa Romeo cars.
