The Agreement aims to promote regional prosperity by removing physical border checks between Spain and Gibraltar, while upholding the Schengen area and EU Single Market.</p><p>Joint Schengen and Gibraltar checks will occur at Gibraltar’s port and airport, eliminating daily border controls at La Línea. Visa, permit, and police cooperation were agreed.</p><p>The customs union will see coordinated customs operations and no goods checks, alongside agreements on indirect taxation, including tobacco.</p><p>Commitments also include cooperation on state aid, taxation, labour, the environment, transport, and frontier workers’ rights.
