Most of them have died in the vicinity of aid sites run by an Israeli-backed American contractor. Local health officials said that Israeli strikes killed 25 people across Gaza on Tuesday. Desperation is mounting in the territory of more than 2 million. Experts say that Gaza is at risk of famine because of Israel’s blockade and ongoing offensive. A breakdown of law and order has led to widespread looting and contributed to chaos and violence around aid deliveries.

It's clear – Israel now has a plan for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza

A #Holocaust is occurring to the people of #Palestine in #Gaza that has been designed, planned and implemented by the descendants of the same people who were the victims of another Holocaust.

The Government of #Australia should treat #Israel like it treats #Russia and impose an equal level of sanctions immediately.

Any assets of the nation of Israel should be seized and used to help the Palestinians. *All* trade with Israel should be instantly stopped. The borders of Australia should be closed to Israelis.

These actions should be only a starting point.

I've been reluctant to post about what's happening in Gaza, not thinking I had much to contribute to what was already being said and shared.

But I found this to be a thoughtful opinion piece and worthy enough of attention that I wanted to share.

Here's the author's conclusion, but there's much more to the piece than just this:

"My inescapable conclusion has become that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. Having grown up in a Zionist home, lived the first half of my life in Israel, served in the I.D.F. as a soldier and officer and spent most of my career researching and writing on war crimes and the Holocaust, this was a painful conclusion to reach, and one that I resisted as long as I could. But I have been teaching classes on genocide for a quarter of a century. I can recognize one when I see one."

He notes that genocide scholars & holocaust scholars tend to see this differently.
