Today has been a national holiday so a holiday on holiday really. It is the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. But yesterday we saw a pre-feast assumption of the recycling bin and it was very impressive. How’s that for a crane #MakersHour crew?

Today I put bedding in the wash,
Then went to the community workshop.
We had a little meeting,
About raising funds for insurance fees.
Then I cut up a bit of Laburnum log,
I need to make new scales for my keyfold.
Popped into work,
To check on the new drain installation.
Forgot to pick up my prescriptions,
So had to pop back out.
Did a little admin,
And watched a few videos.
Did caretaking,
And skipped some lumps of concrete.
Introduced Mum to the tiny Lidl rice cooker,
Hopefully she will get a lot of use from it.
Made the bed with clean fresh bedding,
Then joined in #MakersHour.
Amser gwely,
#NosDa.

@makershour@a.gup.pe Q5: (This IS the last one, right? I really need a wee now, those cuppas were lovely) Ah! Right! LAST QUESTION and then you're FREE! FREE!!! MWUAHAHA!
"There's nowt so permanent as a temporary fix" goes the adage. What bodge of yours' remains?

A5: Quite a few of them. If you hadn’t noticed, I break things and bugger things up regularly! I’m the king of the bodgers.

Is it bodging? Or is it thinking creatively?

@MakersHour@cupoftea.social @makershour@a.gup.pe A5 I think for me its more a case of "I'll come back to that and finish it off later" and then wander off to something more interesting.

So from that point of view, I probably have very few things that anyone might consider "finished" temporary or no :)

So maybe for me it's more "there's nothing quite as complete as a thing that was good enough for me to lose interest".

A5: Last century, the handle broke on a toilet cistern. I very quickly made up a new one from a block of hardwood. It is still there and in use. It has probably had a longer life than its predecessor.

@MakersHour@cupoftea.social @makershour@a.gup.pe There have been a few emergency repairs that have saved me. Like the seam of the down sleeping bag in the middle of a winter hike. Thank god for travel sewing kits. My favourite is the on the road reconstruction of a bicycle pedal with a knife and a spoon. I can't find any pictures of that one though, so here's a sandal that fell apart on holiday (the glue had disintegrated) that I sewed back together.
