This Weekend in The Hangar: Take a look at one of Airfix's best #ModelAircraft kits in 1/48th scale. I recently finished the Anson Mk.I and have the results in my Weblog - https://www.flypastrush.com/post/canadian-train-1-48th-airfix-anson-mk-i

RCAF CL-13 Sabre markings project at the #ModelAircraft Maintenance Hangar includes this Mk.5 (refinish of a fading USAF example). Basic markings on this one, with the early RAF style fin flash, will contrast with my 441 Squadron Mk.6.
Paint retouching, fin tip and anti-glare panel work delayed the Sabre markings project at the #ModelAircraft Maintenance Hangar. A week later and I will now start to get them applied. These Leading Edge decals are great! (very thin yet not fragile )
Heading into another weekend and I just have the stenciling to do on my CT-133 Silver Star #ModelAircraft Canuck decals worked well, although I had a couple of breaks-ups in a few of the decals - Able to patch them together well and press on
A little #ModelAircraft time at the end of Father’s Day to get some markings on my upcoming CT-133 Silver Star (T-Bird) - Hope you had a good weekend
This Weekend in The Hangar: It's back to the beginning, looking at where it all began on the long road to the present museum of #ModelAircraft - In contrast to my latest Hurricane (see last week's post) let's look at my first. https://www.flypastrush.com/post/starting-point-1-48th-monogram-hurricane
Getting a gloss on the CT-133 Silver Star here at the #ModelAircraft Maintenance Hangar. Hopefully some markings will get applied over the weekend
Things are getting glossy in Sabre City at the #ModelAircraft Maintenance Hangar. Hopefully some markings will get applied over the weekend
Tonight’s small bit of #ModelAircraft progress: One white stripe on the CT-133 Silver Star - Over & Out
It’s Always Something - Used a high-grade low-tack tape on the CT-133 Silver Star & the CL-13 Sabres & it seems to reacted with the paint and left a sticky residue . End result is a very weathered look to the gray. I can work with that with the T-Bird & slatted Sabre but the Mk.5 was supposed to be factory fresh

Seven part cockpit jazzed up with some scratch-built seat harnesses. In 53 years, kit manufacturers have struggled to fill this little void. Tamiya offer a ridiculous decal. Other kits, photo-etched copper or brass. These are difficult to make look natural.
I've used copper wire and masking tape. Not perfect, but it satisfies the casual glance. This assembly is approximately 35mm long.

Tonight the crew dispenses the Dark Green paint onto the 50-60’s RCAF group. These two Sabres are now sporting the Euro Gray and Green over Blue #ModelAircraft

Got the Gray base upper coat sprayed over the weekend. Taping down the T-Bird tonight after work to keep this project flowing. Soon the Dark Green paint flows. #ModelAircraft of the 50-60’s RCAF
While the Euro Sabre’s paint dries I am working on the next Mk.5 “Canadairizing” the Hasegawa kit with a few vent fills and a couple of adds (including some “Sugar Scoops in this case as it is a late model version) RCAF 1 OTU Chatham NB #ModelAircraft
I found out what the crew was buzzing about yesterday, as this Hudson arrived in The Hangar to compliment the existing Ventura. Always nice to get a look at a new #ModelAircraft
Paint shop has also been an activity centre here at The Hangar, with a couple of Sabres and a Shooting Star getting some topside work done. The Mk.5 Sabre (non-slatted wing) has little paint weathering as the depiction is early in its career #ModelAircraft Weekend Progress
A bit of activity going on in The Hangar Saturday morning… Almost like something is brewing here. Going to go chat with the crew to see if they will let me in on what’s happening. #ModelAircraft
This Weekend in The Hangar: It has been a slow start to 2025 for new material, however we have a recent arrival and are looking forward to a few more in the coming weeks. Presenting my McKnight Hurricane Mk.I (which has been one long on my to-do list) - Happy #ModelAircraft Weekend https://www.flypastrush.com/post/mcknight-s-mark-1-48th-italeri-hurricane-mk-i
The #ModelAircraft Paint Shop is in full operation tonight with a Silver Star CT-133 of the RCAF (T-Bird) getting an underside coat of Euro PRU Blue #ScaleModels Progress
