so it’s well past #fungi posting season for me, but these crazy horse dung looking things have sprung up. #inaturalist suggests “dead man’s foot” which is such a great name

one more for the mushroom box
used a tripod and Nikon’s app to get this, and it was quite helpful to have that remote shutter release and focus window on my phone. I think it came out well.
So… the Toads are obviously mushrooms. What is the corresponding mycelium network like? Is the Mushroom Kingdom secretly ruled by a vast subterranean entity? Does Princess Peach know she’s a puppet ruler? Or is she a fruiting body too? Do the Toads emit spores? #mario #mushtodon
Cool 47°F this morning so I went for a trail run. A few mushrooms, one Red Eft, a Heron, and a lot of dry dirt.
Posted a short on YT of it, which is mostly just “stomp stomp stomp" as I avoid tripping over rocks and roots.

One of my favourite weird mushrooms for #FungiFriday ! Plectania melastoma, or the black hole fungus. Grows on wood, though often it appears to be on the ground from buried wood.

On this morning's bike ride I checked out a new coffee shop (soft opening, official is Saturday) and got this absolute beast of a cinnamon roll. I'm embarrassed by how long it took me to realize that wasn't (just) butter, but frosting.
