A second pair began breeding at the reserve in 2023 and successfully fledged 3 chicks."</p>

Paul<p>I was at an RSPB reserve that I haven't visited before-Newport Wetlands for a meeting with other RSPB Local Group leaders. It went well and was worthwhile and inspiring (we can all do more, right?); afterwards, we were shown around the reserve by Josh and whilst it's always good to see a Bittern, the real stand out species for me were two sorts of bee. We saw Shrill Carder Bee (arguably the UK's rarest bee) and Long-horned Bee. Every day is a school day!</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/NewportWetlands" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NewportWetlands</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/nature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nature</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/wildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wildlife</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Bee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Bee</span></a></p>
