These days
"I DON'T CARE"
as your selfish response
to social injustice
will get you cheers
from the ME FIRST crowd
but best beware
if fate ever chooses to flip
your current privileged status
you and your dickhead crew
will be on the receiving end
of good old fashioned
Karma payback

@poetry The poem I posted this morning is different from every other poem on my website. There is no meaning behind this poem. The only purpose to is throw various images into the readers mind. Yes, there many be meaning behind some of those select images, but there is not a single coherent meaning.

It only hurts when I sleep
when the circuit breaker safeguards

are switched off involuntarily
and the deeply suppressed
subconscious monster within me
becomes released temporarily

These are only harmless #nightmares technically
but what makes the cycle all so frightening
is the disturbing fear

What if the safeguards someday break
and fail to reactivate when I awaken?

Happy Saturday! I wrote this fun poem after listening to an audiobook and hearing a word that sounded wrong to my ear. There are so many obsolete words in the English language, so I’ve added a dictionary at the end.

April is National Poetry Month in the US and – seeing as it might be the last one – I’m celebrating by sharing recently-released recordings of poems from my collection Noisesome Ghosts made by Graham Farram.

[184] “A Ghost of the Stage Door, Canberra Theatre Centre” (2071-)

Graham’s reading:
