The partnership, which began in April 2024, has focused on tackling loneliness and promoting inclusivity. Fundraising efforts included station collections, Delay Repay donations, and staff events like bake sales and a 13-mile walk. Employees also took part in challenges such as abseiling and zip-lining. In-kind support included complimentary travel for Age Scotland staff and brand awareness campaigns across stations and trains. In 2025, further fundraising events, such as Kiltwalks and marathons, will continue. Scotland’s Railway staff will also volunteer as Friendship Callers, providing companionship to lonely older people. Both #ScotRail and Network Rail expressed pride in the partnership and commitment to supporting Age Scotland’s vital work in the coming years.
https://www.scotrail.co.uk/about-scotrail/news/scotlands-railway-marks-charity-partnership-one-year-anniversary
