I got into a mild fight with a girlfriend who thinks tech can be used for social impact. But her POV was very...#SocEnt (social enterprise) and I rolled my eyes hard.

@edtparkes my understanding is that it is intended to be repayable investment capital so in general the money is returned. The idea being instead of making banks richer from the typical investment interest it goes into social impact investment. I believe the majority already goes into housing where returns less risky but has funded lots of #socent projects
