However I saw 3 separate herds of wapiti also know as Roosevelt elk (Cervus elaphus roosevelti).<br>This beauty was grazing in a meadow with plenty of few-flowered shootingstar (Dodecatheon pulchellum).<br>She is either well-fed or expecting. Catherine Babault<p>I went to check the eagle nest and was delighted to see two eaglets. The adult was sheltering them from the wind. At one point the eaglets bickered like typical siblings. Hopefully none of them will push the other one out of the nest, which sometimes happens. We both love this park & it was a fave when we lived in Cedar, at different times - back before we'd met.<br>Nice mixed forest. We found a big hollowed out trunk that went down pretty deep - it's the photo of Beau standing inside.
