This is a first for me, and I'm not sure what, if anything, to do.

I'm camping on a ridge in the Gila NF, and just sat through a thunderstorm. There was a lightning strike very near me (no delay between flash and crack), after which I smelled wood smoke. Not just ozone, but wood smoke.

Once the danger passed I wandered around looking and smelling for a lightning struck tree. I don't smell wood smoke anymore, and can't find a tree that looks like a recent strike.

I can't decide if this is a non-issue, or if I should report it. If I report it, to whom? And what do I report? "I saw a lightning strike and smelled smoke, but now I don't" doesn't sound like much of an emergency.

Any thoughts?

Another lovely day in the city, wandering & using the free bus to see the sights & places I wanted to see. I walked from the station to Chinatown & the Central Market then jumped on the free bus & did a big round trip & my goodness there’s some lovely homes in North Adelaide. Had a lovely walk beside the Torrens river as well. I have memories of Elder Park from when my family arrived in Australia in 1959, we stayed at the Elder Park Hostel where the Festival Centre now stands. We didn’t stay there long, a week or two I think but boy what a difference all these years have made & it does look great. A very good day, nearly 10km walked today & no sore feet. That’s over 21kms in 2 days 😳, a fair bit even for me. #Adelaide #Wandering #Holiday #Exploring.
