Yet another House Wren! Different wren, different gourd -- same level of intense cuteness.

A small brownish bird with a buff-colored breast pauses two-thirds of the way out of the small opening in a gourd birdhouse. One second later, it had blasted out of there in search of more nesting material.

It's #Wrensday! The House Wrens are busy this week with interior decorating.

A very small brown bird with a buff-colored breast is perched on a small branchlet in the sycamore tree. The bird is holding in its beak a short twig from a spruce tree. Branches and blue sky in the background.

Here comes the wren-spam! (Sorry, not sorry.) This House Wren is making a home in the gourd that's hanging in an apple tree.

A small brown bird clings to the opening in a large birdhouse gourd. The bird has a small twig in its beak. Green leaves all around and in the background.

The same little bird is preparing to exit the gourd. It has the front half of its body outside the opening. It's buff-colored breast seems to be reflecting a bit of greenish color from the surrounding leaves.

The bird diversity in our neighborhood is really on the upswing. @Jillianmarisa caught a great crested flycatcher a few days ago and I can’t stop thinking how they sound like a truck backing up. I missed them.

And this evening a gray catbird was going hard on our suet and meowing away.

Don’t get me started on the house wrens in the mornings with their silly raspy rattle calls. Doofuses.

I’m so glad to have our feathered friends to brighten my day.

The ruby-throated #hummingbirds are still around, most eventually leave, continuing their spring migration north, but in the past we’ve had one or two that stayed here through the summer.

Caught a couple of the white-crowned sparrows in the tree. A rare occurrence. Not sure what scared them up into the tree as they normally prefer to hide under a bush when people walk by.

Happy #Wrensday! The House Wrens, lots of them, are really here now.

A small, tan-colored bird with a sharp beak is perched on a dead branchlet. The background consists of new, light-green amur maple leaves and blue sky.

Same bird, same branchlet. Instead of a side view, the bird has turned its head to look to its right. The lighter colored breast and speckles on the face show clearly.

Catching the white-crowned sparrows off the ground is rare. Here one perched atop the street lamp outside our house and sang its little heart out.
