Used #QGIS to add an 'skyview factor' raster to add texture (ambient occlusion would also work here, with a bit of tweaking)

Mistodon: our quarterly improvised computer art compo is coming up again this weekend, run via channel #blender on the EFNet IRC. Here's a #blockascii specimen by @axb from last year's BLNDRF2024C, kicking ass(cii) even if you can't necessarily tell that the NECROMANCER is part of the OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY.
Undersea Cavern "Gate" -
We had reached the end of our time with the submarine, and just left it in the cave - There was no going back up through the Maelstrom, and our path forward was on foot. "We walk from here", I said to my companion, but of course, they didn't get the reference.

Ranina Birthing Grotto -
The one primarily functional structure the ranina used was for birthing grottoes. Solid architecture was vastly superior to burying eggs in the sand for both protection and viability.

Well this took longer than expected (of course it did) because I thought tracking the quantity/weight of different kinds of garbage would be a good idea for later on, also because I couldn't settle on a design I didn't hate, but I finally have a working trash can. Seems important somehow.
(vfx bit was half inspired by that one trash can in Parc Astérix near Paris so it'll have actual sfx when I finally implement sound)
