LEGO's Replay initiative, launched five years ago, allows consumers to donate used LEGO bricks for redistribution to children.

Over 1.2 million pounds of bricks have been donated, resulting in nearly 400,000 children receiving sets, keeping the bricks from landfills and promoting sustainability.

The LEGO Group aims to make half of its bricks from renewable materials by 2026.

Good News Network · 400,000 Kids Now Have LEGOs to Play with Thanks to Parents Donating 1.2 Mil Pounds of Used Bricks So FarFive years on there have been 1,229,072 lbs. of LEGO bricks donated to the program which has distributed them to almost 400,000 children.

Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), his daughter Inez (Kidpool) and Lynda Carter (no explanation needed) are helping raise money for SickKids, a charity to help kids! Ryan and Blake are also *matching* donations to $500K, yowzaa!! The ugly sweater is a callback to a Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal prank in ‘18. Look it up, it’s hilarious. Pay attention and you’ll glimpse a transitioned Santa’s sleigh 😉

1\2 Have an honest #Christmas. If you can't do that, you're in the wrong company

It's that time of year in 'the west' when cronyism goes into over drive celebrating crony Christmas (yeah! Bring out the fake plastic trees) More of the same old business & in-excess lifestyles, AKA greed, as usual (what a change Christmas brings!?)

However, don't be a party pooper just because you feel like you can't swallow one more spoon of crony bullshit

Continued thread

It was a nice evening - only about 10 people there, probably due to Christmas parties, and there was an interesting presentation about the #Nominet Givehub, allocating monthly money for #charity donations.

Nominet members can submit proposals for worthwhile charities for specific projects that fit the Nominet criteria: nominet.uk/members-givehub/

The next meet up in January will be in a different venue, as Fierce Bar (fiercebeer.com/pages/mancheste) will be shutting on the 20th of december :(

I look forward to the next one 😀

This weekend I'll be playing games in support of Extra Life with a group of friends.

If you can, you can donate to my campaign at the link below. 100% of donations go John Hopkins Children Center.

If you aren't able to donate, please boost. :zerotwoheartlove:

The Sameer Project is set up by Palestinians in the diaspora and is taking care of tarps, food, and medical and cash support for the forcibly displaced Palestinians in Gaza. Here's a conversation with one of the founders, Hala Sabbah on e.g. mutual aid versus charity, the role of NGOs, the problems with Go Fund Me, and the situation in Gaza.

If you have the means, any amount is welcome, because it's winter again in Gaza. On this donation page, you can read more about their activities: chuffed.org/project/113222-ten
