#LuisManuelOteroAlcántara and #MaykelCastilloPérez are artists and activists in #Cuba who co-founded the San Isidro Movement (MSI), which protested the government’s increasing restrictions on artistic expression. They were both arrested in 2021 and later sentenced to five years and nine years in prison, respectively, on vague charges including contempt and public disorder. Maykel’s song #PatriaYVida, which served as a protest anthem, won two Latin Grammys in 2021.

In addition to YouTube and Instagram, there is now another place to view Belly of the Beast videos - cuddly.tube, hosted on a non-commercial server. I set it up and maintain it, in collaboration with Belly of the Beast staff.
Unlike the other two, it is based on an open-source video streaming platform called Peertube, which is part of the Fediverse.
Once you connect to it you will notice a lack of advertising and other screens coming at you. And there is no tracking. It is not as polished as YouTube but I still think it is more pleasant to use.
