About that egg shortage....

A shortage is of course, annoying.

But here's what really bothers me:

I now find myself putting as many boxes of eggs back on the shelf because there's chicken shit on them, as boxes with broken eggs.

Guess those food inspectors they fired weren't sitting home doing nothing.... as muskrat and fat-ass would have you believe.

We had dinner with friends last night who have a small farm with chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, peafowl and emus! Although the emus eat many of the eggs, there is still plenty more than they can eat themselves.

We brought a bottle of wine. They sent us home with this. Perhaps we should have brought a case!

Wondering why Canadian egg prices have not risen like the USA?

"Amanda Brittain of B.C. Egg, which oversees egg farming in the province, says price increases have been much smaller than those in the U.S. due to Canada's supply management system.

"That means we produce just enough eggs to feed the people of Canada," she said. "Here in B.C., most of the eggs are farmed right in B.C., so we don't have large excesses of eggs."”

CBCEgg prices soar in the U.S. but not in B.C. Here's why | CBC NewsRising egg costs have been a hot-button topic in the United States, but a farming organization in British Columbia says that while prices in the province have risen, eggs remain "one of the least expensive proteins in the grocery store."

For decades, I ate Grape Nuts for breakfast. #Eggs were off limits due to #HighCholesterol. When I discovered I had #ElevatedGlucose, I had to cut carbs. No Grape Nuts in 6 months now!

I easily eat 18 eggs a weeks!! And my cholesterol is the best it's ever been! I’m gobsmacked. It's like my glucose issues (though barely scratching the surface) were affecting my cholesterol. And my glucose is too under control.

But the insurance no longer wants to pay for the #CGM (#ContinuousGlucoseMonitor) which is the tool that has allowed me to get my blood in such perfect condition - overall BEST TESTS in about 30 years. They don't want to pay because I'm not diabetic. At least not technically. Though I've never done an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test.

However, certain foods I must avoid completely or my glucose spikes and start going like a roller coaster. And they haven't told me what that is. To me, it sounds like, you know… diabetes…

But the A1C test is now normal (was pre-diabetic). But it's normal because the CGM shows me when I don't eat the right things/quantities/combinations. And it's allowing me to learn. Could it be that I am beginning to be diabetic but able to manage it because of the sensor?

And the endocrinologist I had gone to see has quit. Not that she was that useful. So checking again with my doctor
