Well we are finally back with Newark Tower ATC who handled FOD quite intuitively. A pilot saw a bag on the runway on takeoff but the ATC couldn't get any trucks to immediately respond on radio so he asked the planes lined up for takeoff to look out their windows and they found it!

Also the current ATC is just sooooo nice and has professional good vibes.

"Every week, the air traffic control system in the United States suffers around 700 outages. Its systems are decades old, and are often held together with improvised fixes ... And in February, at the direction of Elon Musk’s DOGE, the FAA laid off more than 100 workers, including the maintenance technicians and telecommunications specialists needed to keep unreliable systems in working order."

  • Verizon is being worked with to add more connections between PHL-NYC for redundancy
  • Special team created to work on the issue
  • Duffy will ask Congress for more resources

Ground NewsFAA to cut Newark flights to reduce congestionThe interim rule will cap the number of arrivals and departures at Newark Liberty International Airport at 28 apiece per hour.

Seems an ATC finally spoke up regarding #EWR #Newark. The stress and anxiety seem overwhelming.

Please call your reps and advocate for FAA infrastructure investment, ATC benefits/protections, moving EWR TRACON back to NYC and hiring back maintenance workers. I called this morning.

To NJ's main airport and their ATCs. We support you.
