Completed surgery on my pride and joy.

It was a success.

Symptom: god awful screams of death when grinding.
Fix: dismantle gearbox and replace partially stripped gear.

The top down view of a coffee machine with the top removed. Looks simple so far.

Now the back is removed. It no longer looks simple owing to a rats nest of wiring.
