Any lawn expert on here that can identify this (presumably) fungal growth on this very dry grass?
It’s not my lawn, but a communal one outside our house.
Thanks in advance.
I came across this mushroom pushing up among the pine trees on the grounds of the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in #Bloomington, #Indiana. I couldn't help wondering about the kind soul who had reincarnated as a #fungus on this holy ground. They must have had a surplus of positive #karma to enjoy such good fortune.

Any strawberry doctors out there? My fruit are developing lesions before ripening so I'm wondering whether I might have Alternaria, Botrytis, and/or Colletotrichum. Ants are quick to the scene but I don't think they are causing the problem. Raised bed in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. It's also been hot and muggy but in past years that hasn't prevented a good crop. #strawberries #fragaria #garden #gardening #fruit #disease #pathology #fungi #fungus
Article in yesterday's New York Times about the invasive golden oyster mushroom (Pleurotus citrinopileatus). It's likely outcompeting certain native fungi but is apparently delicious so it could be worse. #tamogitake #mushroom #fungi #fungus #invasive #cooking #foraging #nature #biodiversity #science https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/16/science/golden-oyster-mushrooms-invasive-fungus.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Yk8.Qb09.i1yW8OEEK0qP&smid=url-share

Researchers Warn Some Infectious #Fungus Could Spread as Earth's Temperatures Rise
Aspergillus flavus, species that prefers hotter, tropical climates, could increase its spread by 16% if humans continue burning large amounts of #fossilfuels, [Mainly in parts of Europe and the northernmost edges of Scandinavia, Russia, China, and Canada, and the western edge of Alaska.] This species can cause severe infections in humans and is resistant to many antifungal medications.

This morning I spotted an iridescent #fly clinging onto the netting around one of the plants in my garden. It's got some kind of white stringy #fungus growing out of it's abdomen. How interesting, wonder what species these are. #MushroomPosting #entomology
