Even though it has been a while since I last spoke about Leroux’s world, it never really left me. I have been diving into Erik’s backstory by the hand of Susan Kay, author of Phantom. This has been my most difficult reading to date, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the worst.

This talk hosted by our friends at the Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth will consider Emily Brontë’s literary relationship with the figure of the vampire, tracing the influence of German literature upon her understanding and usage of the vampire figure in #WutheringHeights, and the impact of the novel on contemporary vampire fiction like Twilight.
