4. I found the mouse my cat had left for me near my feet, but I don't know how long it had been there or how long it had been dead. Thanks, mighty hunter, for the smelly surprise.

1. Car's going bye-bye.
2. Getting $500 for it.
3. Newer cars cost what now?
Small language note from my Legend of Zang Hai watch: at one point there's a small joke/riposte over the name Zhinu because why would you name your kid with Nu which stands for 'slave', but apparently it also means young child.
Reading elsewhere this isn't just a fictional point but an actual mandarin bit, so that's cool that's 20 seconds of dialogue that just encapsulated a key point of grief between Malay and Indonesian speakers lmao (in Malay budak is very straightforwardly a child; in Indonesian that's a foot servant or slave more than the other meaning. But no Malay speaker who's not used to Indonesian would even guess the word they'd actually use, which is bocil)

So I was just switching between the zen browser (firefox based) window and the firefox window, reorganizing my tabs while the YouTube music web app running in a separate firefox runtime was playing music and as I was switching to my Obsidian (electron app) window I decided to open VS Code (electron app) and then
guess what happened
'Memory usage: 100% 16 GB/16 GB, Swap usage: 100% 4 GB/4 GB'
only a second later and my computer completely froze up
I barely managed to close VS Code and prevent the whole system from crashing
What has this world come to if 20 gigabytes are not enoigh for an operating system and 5 programs.
Those were the worst dumplings of my life. About the only redeeming quality is the space they've freed from my freezer. #food #IGuess #technically
The guys screechingly-terrified of tampons are not going to save Masculinity.
...though if they're what Masculinity has to offer, clearly we don't need it.
If you care about Masculinity, I'd work hard to take it back from these monsters before it's completely gone.

No amount of suffering you inflict on other people will ever make your eggs cheaper.
yeah, that pretty much reflects my relative level of enthusiasm for voting for those two things

12.08.2024 What about writing is challenging for you?
How do I phrase it...

"I have thought a trillion billion, more than stars in the sky,
people, worlds, gadgets, places, foods or any lie,
felt all a human can feel, more than a human can take, and asked "why?",
everything that can be or can't be, in a blink of an eye,
yet here I am, stuck to the vessel language, slow as a tongue or worse letters written that I string together, with my hands, I try..."

looptober 1: Starfish Tidepool Waltz
I got a new very cheap guitar and did NOT tune it before making this.
(ends abruptly because it's intended to be looped forever, because starfish never want to stop dancing)
This has to count as one of the more amusing things I've read in the last week: Mothership Investigates: Why is there a place in South Africa also called Singapore? And why is there no info on it anywhere? - https://mothership.sg/2023/03/singapore-limpopo-south-africa/
The context being Mothership is like one of those BuzzFeed-type sites but for Singapore, and even more underresourced. So the amount of remote investigation this guy did is honestly, impressive. I'm still cackling.
I've done this since my childhood BBSing days. I guess I'm a relic, mostly.
