This sarracenia grown from open pollinated seed is my favorite so far. It only stands five inches but should be beautiful next season.

A pumice rock planting with a large ping, an Australian pitcher plant, string of turtles, tiny tears, and moss. This is the first time I have attempted this kind of a planting. There must be lots of insects in the air today, because somewhere between 50 and 100 Dusky Woodswallows filled the air this morning. They're so agile that I didn't manage an action shot, but at least they stop for a break from time to time.

Velvety Gynura Aurantiaca before I pinched off the blooms. The sparkly one is a Pinguicula Cyclosecta, and it actually digests bugs. I noticed that there was a tiny baby plant just forming at the base. #houseplants #carnivorousplants #insectivores

I am still sorting out how to focus and light subjects with this microscope, but I am having fun! Two of these are #MexicanPinguicula that are #insectivores for the most part. One image is of the transparent windows at the top of a #CephalotusFollicularis which confuse their prey. #CarnivorousPlant #houseplant The pings are great for taking down fungus gnats.
