В 1864 году Вяжище входило в состав имения Наровля, которым владел Даниэль Горватт. Его хоздвор частично сохранился в деревне, и при большом желании можно его осмотреть. Площади там огромные, а время очень ограничено. Поэтому мы прошлись только по одному кирпичному амбару. Внутри увидели старую деревянную лодку (будет в следующих постах). А так - хозпостройки в процессе разрушения.
При Горваттах здесь заготавливали сено, прессовали в тюки и везли на продажу. Так же в больших объемах пилили лес, и затем сплавляли его по реке Словечна, и вероятно дальше по Припяти вниз. Тот водоём, что я сфоткал со склона - как раз старое русло этой реки, превратившееся в озеро. Возможно когда-то вдоль этих берегов и плыли брёвна...

I went for a long bike ride yesterday, on a fairly dry afternoon. It took in the western lake shore at Coniston. The water was very high after all the recent rain. Most of the shore paths were under water and the passenger steamer wasn't running.

Anlong Veng in Oddar Meanchey Province is a typical small town in Northern Cambodia, close to the natural ridge marking the border to Thailand’s Isaan region.
The countryside in the north of Cambodia is very pretty in itself. Add in a lake, some people and animal going on with their peaceful business in the setting sun. It turns incredible beauty.
