#lambs

1 post1 participant1 post today

I spent another couple of hundred bucks on lucerne for the #alpacas & #lambs yesterday.

(The reason I left the house while still positive for #Covid - a trip to the produce store, the chemist & Maccas for hot chocolate)

It’s been raining overnight & is still pouring down.

Their paddock is slowly getting greener with the rain these last few weeks.

Fingers crossed I’ll be able to start spending less on feed in a month or 2.

#alpacas & #lambs are fed.

I didn’t beat the rain though.

#Covid is giving me breathing problems today. I had to take several breaks just getting dressed & out the door to try & get a breath.

I thought feeling so weak yesterday was the worst of my Covid so far. Nah. This struggle to breathe is it. 👎

Our Lucerne’s been delivered & I’ve started throwing bricks of it to the #alpacas & #lambs.

I’m sure they’d love to just eat crushed lupins all day, but it makes them fart & burp a lot! That mightn’t be a good thing.

It’s nice to see some greenery happening in the paddock!

Waiting for our local produce store to deliver more lucerne for the #alpacas & #lambs.

Hopefully the temperature will rise a bit while I wait.

I’m feeding the flock with lots of smaller lucerne bricks instead of throwing out half bales at a time since I’ve had the dizzies recently.

Nothing worse than going to throw half a bale, getting dizzy, losing control of the throw & ending up looking like a lucerne snow man.

The #lambs & #alpacas were fed around lunchtime.

The sun was shining but strong winds & rain were coming down on me.

The winds have been howling since the storms last night.

I’m waiting on my #Woolies delivery.

(What a different order it would be if I knew when I placed it that Covid had arrived here!)

#Dinner tonight #roastPork potatoes & vegies in a thick sauce.

A post Covid awareness delivery is coming tomorrow morning - lots of liquids, juices, throat soothers, tests etc.

This morning, as I was heading off to the doctors, 2 women walking #Malamutes saw me hopping into the car & asked if their dogs could get a closer look at the #alpacas & #lambs.

They were on our driveway & the dogs kept looking at our animals & we’re doing lots of head tilting, looking confused.

I said “sure” & we drove off.

The alpacas & lambs had been still eating lucerne & in the rear vision mirror we saw Ozzie move to the gate to put himself between the visitors & his “herd”.
