This morning I finally got to listen to the latest episode of Working Class Literature. It's a recording from Florence Working-Class Literature Festival and captures both the writers and organizers at the festival and an active struggle of occupying workers at a factory. It's absolutely worth listening to.

Thirukkural – 90/1330

Chapter – 9 (Hospitality)

மோப்பக் குழையும் அனிச்சம் முகந்திரிந்து
நோக்கக் குழையும் விருந்து.

Transliteration:
Mōppak kuḻaiyum aṉiccam mukandirinthu
Nōkkak kunaḻyum virundu.

English Meaning:
Just as the Anicham flower withers with a single sniff,
A guest can wither under a cold, unwelcome gaze.

For those interested in looking at #solarpunk more academically and/or politically, ISE is launching a new course on utopian literature in just a few weeks: social-ecology.org/wp/courses/

The syllabus looks great - the texts chosen are some of my favorites! This would be a great intro for anyone interested in utopian thinking, narrative change, and other ways of approaching hope in dark times.

While it’s been satisfying to highlight the heroes in Outlaws of the Marsh, it does get a little complicated in the big scenes where over twenty characters are mentioned in a single page.

Conveniently most of the groups are listed in rank, although occasionally they are not.

Reynard the Fox was a prominent figure in medieval European folktales, a trickster and everyman. He would bedevil various other anthropomorphic animals, frequently satirizing the nobility and clergy. However, Reynard's main enemy was his uncle, the wolf Isengrim.
