The #Palestinian health ministry said on Monday that Hams, who also oversees field hospitals in the #Gaza Strip, was on his way to visit the #ICRC facility in northern #Rafah when undercover #Israeli soldiers opened fire, killing one person and wounding another civilian, before capturing him.

The person killed was a local journalist who had been conducting an interview with al-Hams at the time of the attack.

The House of Representatives, however, rejected in a 422-6 vote on Thursday, to cut funding for the Israeli Cooperative Program - an agreement through which the #US provides Israel with $500m to boost its missile programmes.

LONDON (AP) — Twenty-five countries including #Britain, #France and a host of #European nations issued a joint statement on Monday that puts more pressure on #Israel, saying the war in #Gaza “must end now” and Israel must comply with international law.

The foreign ministers of countries including #Australia, #Canada and #Japan said “the suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths.” They condemned “the drip feeding of aid and the inhumane killing of civilians, including children, seeking to meet their most basic needs of water and food.”

The statement described as “horrifying” the deaths of over 800 #Palestinians who were seeking aid...

Witnesses say Israel's military opened fire, and the military says it shot at a gathering that posed a threat. Meanwhile, there was new alarm as Israel’s military issued evacuation orders Sunday for areas of central Gaza, one of the few areas where it has rarely operated with ground troops. Many international organizations attempting to distribute aid are located there, and the United Nations says it seeks more information from Israel.
