NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR JULY 28, 2025:

Strong #storms and heavy #rainfall will move through the #Northland Sunday night as the #humid conditions persist with lows in the 60s.

Monday will be #dry during the daytime, with more #showers and #thunderstorms for the nighttime. #Winds will remain light, but could bring some #wildfire #smoke from Canada. It remains humid with #temperatures in the 80s for highs.

STORMY EVENING:

A heads up for the northern half of the #Northland as a decaying cap in the #atmosphere will allow #showers and #thunderstorms to form over the next several hours ahead of a cold front.

They will likely pack a punch, with high #winds, #hail, and heavy #rainfall being the greatest threat from any #storms.

The southern half could still see storms, but they will come from a different line pushing through #Minnesota.

#Water shipped into #Skerries with levels low

Prolonged periods with minimal #rainfall left the reservoir and storage tank levels low in Skerries, #Scottish Water said.

That has meant the company is having to ship a road tanker full of treated water into the #island up to five times a week from #Whalsay to maintain people’s #water supplies.

Scottish Water said this would “continue for the foreseeable future”.
