It's on the end of a long spit of land and best reached by boat. It's now NationalTrust, who run it as both a nature reserve and historic site. It's bleak and remote, and I love it.</p><p>You're not allowed off the path here for fear of unexploded ordnance. Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK<p>A late night drive last night/early this morning to test a <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/navi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>navi</span></a> app also showed up the effect of the current and previous Governments on <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Britain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Britain</span></a> (or at least <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Ipswich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ipswich</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Suffolk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Suffolk</span></a>) - not only did I have the <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/A14" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>A14</span></a> almost to myself (not even lorries), even the urban / suburban streets were dead. </p><p>10-30 years ago the same streets and even car parks would have been buzzing with young people getting to the next party or just hanging out but whole area was 100% dead. </p><p>OK it meant I didn't have to worry about jaywalkers or other drivers who weren't 100% sober, but it felt like puritans are rubbing their hands in glee knowing they have finally succeeded in getting everyone home and into bed before midnight just like it was before about 1988/9....</p>

Very much resonates with the best part of my troubled childhood. A 2 acre smallholding 10 miles from anywhere. Think <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Akenfield" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Akenfield</span></a> without the <a href="https://mas.to/tags/English" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>English</span></a> bucolic. Hard but blindingly near perfect in retrospect. Learnt a lot in a very short time . Joyous 💖 xP</p>
Juggling With Eggs<p>Went to <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Suffolk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Suffolk</span></a> today, as had to go there to pick up an EV courtesy car, while ours is in garage.</p><p>People think <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Norfolk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Norfolk</span></a> and Suffolk are much the same if they don’t live in either…but I swear Suffolk has done something to space time continuum. </p><p>The slower pace of everything there I usually enjoy…but I was up against their parking machines that were lots of cash or an app and there was no signal today, so limited time but so many lovely things to see…grrrr! </p><p>Wonder how George <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Orwell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Orwell</span></a> reacted?</p>
